18, if at all. In places (like Europe) w/out drinking age restrictions, teenagers don't binge drink b/c it's not a big deal. over here we make it something mysterious and rebellious then kids act like jackasses and drink till they puke.
Alcohol kills and ruins more peoples lives and families than all the other drugs combined. They have called pot the gateway drug for years but I believe alcohol is the culprit. Most teens drink before smoking pot or using other drugs. Alcohol causes you to lose your inhibitions and you are then more susceptible to trying other drugs. It amazes me that the two deadliest drugs, alcohol and ciggarettes, are the two that are legal. I have watched alcohol destroy many of the people in my lives families, including mine. Despite the facts, teens that want to drink will find a way to do so. It makes me sad that when they start they have no idea what they are doing to their minds and bodies.
If you're 18 in this country you can buy a home, sign contracts, enlist in the military in a combat capacity, get married, and elect the president of the United States. You can't buy a beer.
I don't think it is bad to have a drink, But teens all dont have great self control. I also think even if you raised the drinking age it wouldn't stop them from finding ways to drink.
It's bad that irresponsible/noob teens drink and I'm sure it is downright scary for a parent. But being under the drinking age i think is fine only if the person is a responsible adult and according to their age. 18+ i think is fine for the people that wanna do it.
I'm 18 and I sometimes like to drink with a few friends or at a party; just don't abuse Anything and you'll be fine. imo
It is proven to damage the brain of anyone under the age of about 23, but if they want to drink, there is no way to stop them. They will always find ways to steal drinks, or even buy them. I personally disagree with the number of teens that drink
