A conditioning treatment at your local salon (not as expensive as most think), regular trims, and a good conditioner. I leave my conditioner in after I've been in the shower for 10 minutes. Then I rinse in col, Cold water. It makes for super soft and shiney hair!
I know it may sound stupid, but if you rub baby lotion in your hair [i do johnson johnson] it helps with your hair. Also, don't put alot of chemicals in it. Chemicals damage your hair.
Flat Iron!! Product doesn't matter as much, but a flat iron makes all the difference. Even dry/brittle hair ends up totally smooth and soft.
As for products, though - Bedhead makes something called "After Party" which works wonders but is expensive. Garnier's stuff is pretty good - the shine spray leaves behind a nice softness.
It sounds weird... but if you mix avocado and mayonaise and put it on your hair overnight, when you rinse it out in the morning it will be super soft and shiny.
Also, I've heard olive oil has the same effect but I've never tried it.
okay this may sound weird but it works. Just before you are going to have a shower or wash your hair, slap on a good load of mayyonaise leave it for about half an hour and rinse and wash like normal. Hair becomes super soft and totally maneagable. If it worked on mine it will on yours too. :)
An "old time remedy" is to rinse with white vinegar. I know it sounds yucky, but I was told that the smell disappears. I haven't tried it yet either, but it can't hurt your hair.
For one thing, watch how much damage your putting on your hair. Over brushing, combing, hair ties, heat styling, and many other things can do torture to your hair. I use Dove "Intense Damage" shampoo and condition and it works WONDERS. Also, I get haircuts on a regualr basis because split ends are the opposite of soft. I also use an egg yolk and olive oil treatment on my hair every weekend. Take one egg tolk, beat it, add one Tbs of olive oil and one cup of luke warm water. Put this in your hair after shampooing and conditioning and let sit for 10 minutes. Do NOT use hot water while this is in your hair because it will cook the egg. Rinse with cold water, plus the cool water will make your hair super shiney. After the treatment, let your hair air dry because the towel with cause breakage.
Theres a product called chi it cost a little
but worth it and you do not have to use very much it makes your hair very soft after blowdrying or using a flatiron.
If you don't already be sure to use a conditioner. I used V105 for a while but now use Herbal Essence. Also you might want to consider your diet. I don't know anything specific to recomment in that direction but the more healthy you eat the better.
