I personally use vitamin E oil, extra virgin olive oil (wash clean after awhile). My favorite shower wash is the olay ribbons with sea salt. It exfoliates. My skin is very dry right now, so I also use Curel for dry skin.

Try baby lotion.

I also have very dry skin, and not every lotion works, its like my body just soaks it up and then is dry again, a doctor recommended a product called Eucerin, it works very very well. when I looked at the ingredients, I noticed that it had Urea in it. I have tried other products with this in it and they work fairly well also.
Immediately after bath put on pure shea butter or coconut oil.
Moistuize with Nuetrogena

I take Vitamin capsules and also use body lotion everyday. Vitamin tablets may help for a permanent cure and I use lotion for instant relief.

Exfoliate, and try using baby oil. You can also do parafin wax treatments. Where they soak you in hot wax and peel it off. It works for dry skin. Use an exfoliator and a good soap, like dove or olay when you shower, and follow up with some intensive cream like vaseline medicated healing, for dry skin, if not rub yourself with baby oil, that may do the trick.

the best way is to exfoliate regularly (twice a week with a scrub, or every day with a buffing body cloth which you can use with shower gel and wash with) Dermalogica do a great buffing cloth that can be put in the washing machine and used daily. You then have to apply moisturiser every day at least once a day!If you have very dry skin use a heavy cream rather than a thin lotion and change to a lotion when the dryness improves. Drinking plenty of water will also help! Don't stop looking after your skin even if it improves as you will probably get the dryness again!
Lotion, lotion, and ummmm, well, more lotion...I keep lotion on hand and use it daily. I think it's good to apply it after showering too. I have many different scents and brands so when I get tired of using one, I switch.
