Height usually around 11-12 months (usually)
At 16 months they are about done
can still fill in a bit between the 16 and 36 month range
Too fast and I don't care what anybody say's it's not the owners. The dog's have a defective gene and they are bad. Yes, they're are some bad owners for all animals but the pit bull turns on you and should be banned in the U.S.A.
I hope janine is wrong about the fighting comment. It is extremely cruel and I believe that people who engage in these pitbull fights should be given lenghty jail terms and banned from ever owning any dogs, or other animals, for that matter.
Pitbulls usually reach their full height by 1 year but continue to grow in girth till about 1 1/2. There are various types of pitbulls and that can determine their growth, and there is a lot of inbreeding that can change how they would normally grow. My family and I have rescued abused pitbulls for years and have had them anywhere from 60 pounds up to 125 pounds. One of our rescue females was pregnant and had 13 puppies.The smallest one upon reaching adult size was 75 pounds and one that we gave to a friend is now 160 pounds. I absolutely love the breed and hate the bad rap they have been given. All of ours, and some were horribly abused and used for fighting, are big babies and have never hurt anyone. My grandchildren grew up with them and could ride on them and play with and around them and not one has ever even growled at anyone. Make sure that you bring them around other people , children, and other animals starting when they are small because they need to be socialized from an early age as do all dogs. Dogs grow as fast as dogs grow, you should see your pit bull puppy be fully grown in about 1 year maybe a little more maybe a little less. Come on heather it seems sense you moved outta the burbs you gotten silly ;P lol. A puppy of a medium/large size breed such as those will gain about 5-10 pds a month till fully grown give or take based on feeding regime.
