im not homophobic cause i go to a arts school with a ton of gay people and most of my freinds arnt gay but saying gay is the new black goes too far some body just compared the descrimination against gay people to the same thing as the descrimination against black people i mean yeah it's descrimination but NO it's not the same
Discrimination against gay people and black people is not the same! I'm not homophobic either,but to compare the two is rediculous.

minority(hispanic etc.)would agree that this is true. We face discrimination everyday.

who they tried to label a freak!NO he didn't want to be White!NO he wasn't broke!If he was so broke,why are they fighting so hard to keep the money away from Katherine Jackson and his family?Anyway,you get the point.Absolutly no one knows what it's like to be black but a black person and you can't compare the two.
do you think they meant black in the a different term. like "the new black" as in like when something cool and acceptable. i've heard this term used when fashion changes like last year when pink was the big color they said "pink is the new black". i'm not sure but just a thought. sometimes people just don't consider who all their statements may affect.
Obviously being gay and being black are 2 different things. However, discrimination is discrimination, and these groups can identify with each other because of this. While gay people have the advantage of being able to hide their identity when necessary, black people certainly have never had to come out as black to their parents.
