My cousin's maternal grandma is living on 1 kidney...I was just wondering, where could we get a mechanical kidney as an alternate for the removed kidney?
other than getting a colostomy bag, i mean you can live without it
There is no "mechanical kidney"...however dialysis is the closest thing to mechanical kidney action. It works like an artificial kidney - however, it is time consuming and has to be done about 3 times a week. A person can live a completely normal life with one kidney. There is also kidney transplant for someone with no kidney function. The donor has to be compatible and the recipient has to take many meds so the organ is not rejected.
