If chewing a denta bone doesnt work and brushing the teach doesnt work then you might want to get him checked at the vet. As with humans, chronic bad breath could mean a symptom of desease. Hope its not that but if previous efforts dont work its best to get him checked.
Denta bones usually stop that problem at least for a while. I give my dogs 1 denta bone each a week and they don't seem to have too bad of breath. If it's really bothersome ask the vet the next time your dog is in for a checkup, it may be time for a cleaning.
If you can not get your small dog to take a breath mint, ( which mine will not either ). Use a breath freshener with parsley and/or clorophyl in it. You can get this in multiple forms such as drops, bones, etc.
My dog is very old and I feel that this is attributing to her breath. But I do know that feeding your dog table scraps is not necessarily bad for them, it WILL give them bad breath from time to time. Keep an eye on what you are feeding your dog as well. Any garlic in that table food???
I'll bet he has a rotten tooth somewhere. You can have bright white teeth but a tooth can be rotten. He also might have a sore in his mouth you can't see. That's what happened with my dog. But afterwards we give him Milk Bones with minty and haven't a problem for years.
Yep, the yip yaps will do the trick! But a quick word of advice, it may just be the rawhide giving your pooch stinky breath. Try substituting other treats for a while to see if thats the cause.
You can try Yip Yaps. They are little bone shaped mints for dogs. They come in a small tin like Altoids. You can get them at PetCo or PetSmart, or Amazon.com. They cost about $3 a tin, or you can get a box of 100 that comes with a tin for about $10. They work great for my Dachshund. He comes a-runnin' when he hears me rattle the tin.
