I agree with Tifflen, Geeks are more up with technology, while nerds are like the straight A students.
Nerds are book smart. Geeks are tech smart, good with gadgets and computers.

It depends on your own perception.

For example, when I think of a nerd, I think of a smart person who excels. When I think of a geek, I think of a person who may or may not be intellectually stimulated (smart) and who appears awkward and out of touch with mainstream society and norms.
